Apalachicola Regional Airport - Apalachiola, FL

Apalachicola was a fuel stop enroute from Miami back to San Antonio. Really a great town with lots of small antique shops. Unfortunately, most were closed on Sunday, but we had a great lunch at Boss Oyster right on the bay. Airport personnel were extremely helpful and we had the use of a courtesy for our short visit. Banyan Pilot Shop - Fort Lauderdale, FL

A really fun place to visit is Banyan Pilot Shop aka Hangar 63. This aviation store has everything a pilot or a want-to-be pilot wants or needs. The store is amazing! When you walk in there are propellers coming out of the wall and a runway with lights down the center of the store. There's a GII fuselage with flight simulator software that you can fly for free. The store also has an electronics tower that has all the latest portable electronics. A very large headset section offers a variety of headsets and you can try them in the egg sound booth to see how well they work. Look above your head and see a very large glider attached to the ceiling. What's really neat is that non-pilots love to shop the store also for cool gifts, kids toys, apparel, mugs, hats, watches, sunglasses, unique aviation items. You can Fly-in, Drive-in or Shop on-line http://www.banyanpilotshop.net - it's a very fun place to visit. While you are there, visit Jet Runway Cafe, just a few steps away - they serve amazing breakfast and lunches 6 days a week and the view is incredible. - Submitted by Nancy Bouvier

Blue Heaven Restaurant - Key West, FL

This is one of the ultimate 100 Hamburger experiences! Take a picturesque flight over the Keys into Key West. Call ahead to have a scooter delivered to the FBO Island City Flying Service and waiting for you, then immediately enjoy the fun in the sun as you ride along the water into Old Town, where your destination is Blue Heaven. You eat outdoors along with the Key West roosters in the courtyard thickly lined by tropical plants and trees. The pancakes are out of this world, but if they're serving Lobster Benedict...well...that's in the do not miss category. There's simply too much to do in Key West, so spend the entire day. There's Sloppy Joe's, Hog's Breath Saloon, and many more incredible restaurants. Then there's Key West's daily sunsets at Mallory Square with all the accompanying street entertainment. - Submitted by Todd Billingsley

Boca Raton Airport - Boca Raton, FL

This is a very nice airport to fly into. It has a control tower, and the runway is directly behind a movie theater. The folks at the local FBO Boca Aviation are great. They have a courtesy car, which they will lend for a couple of hours, and they will also take you in a van to the movie theater, and with a phone call, they will also pick you up. There's great restaurants nearby. I recommend TGI friday's and Cheesecake Factory. - Submitted by mrpintado

CJ Cannons - Vero Beach, FL

Great restaurant with equally great menu with reasonable prices. Wait in line on Sunday during the summer! No landing fee and good gas prices. - Submitted by Larry McClure

Downwind Cafe - Daytona Beach, FL

Call Downwind Cafe for permission to Land and please go to web site scpoa.com/airport and download Transient Arrival Departure Info. AND PARK ONLY BEHIND BLUE LINES ON CESSNA OR BEECH. - Submitted by CAPTSAL
